We are very pleased to provide this review of our home-building experience with Phoenix Construction.

Bottom Line. Phoenix Construction built us a beautiful, exceptionally well-built home and did so in an open, honest, and friendly manner. Pat Hennis, his son Austin, their team of highly qualified craftsmen and subs did a superb job on our home and were a pleasure to work with. We could not be happier with our new home, and Pat and Austin made the process enjoyable and fun.

Before Contracting. We were anxious before starting the process. We had never built a home before and many of our friends who had built homes warned us against building a custom home. They told us that the process was emotionally exhausting with so many delays and huge budget overruns. They strongly recommended that we forget about a custom home and just buy one that was already available.

When we met Pat and his wife Melissa we were immediately put at ease. Both Pat and Melissa are wonderful people - open, honest, professional, and fair. Pat provided a set of plans which we modified together and then we worked through a simple contract and agreed upon a construction and payment schedule. The process was easy and enjoyable.

During Construction. During the construction phase I was probably more involved than Pat was used to; nevertheless, he was patient and friendly as he answered my questions and helped guide our decisions.

Pat Hennis has over 30 years of experience building custom homes. He is flexible and innovative, a problem solver. His experience and reputation in the community ensured he had the finest craftsmen working for him, and that he easily dealt with subs, suppliers, inspectors, etc. More importantly, Pat is honest, fair, and a pleasure to work with. I can't tell you how much I learned from Pat.

Pat's son and partner (Austin Doll-Hennis) is a highly experienced and skilled builder and leader. Austin served as the on-site foreman, guiding the efforts of the outstanding team of highly skilled craftsmen and superb subcontractors. He ensured the highest quality construction and took care that whatever minor issues that arose were dealt with efficiently, effectively, and professionally. Austin is extremely helpful, supporting, and positive. He couldn't have made the process easier for us and he was a pleasure to work with. In the end, we have a beautiful, exceptionally well-built home and we finished the process with smiles on our faces.

Following Construction. As is always the case, there are a small number of small issues which arise following construction. When two of these small issues arose (neither of which were their fault), Pat and Austin responded immediately and had their team correct the issues with no questions asked. We could not be happier with their support following construction.

Recommendation. We highly, very highly, recommend Phoenix Construction if you are looking for a beautiful, exceptionally well-built custom home. You will not find more professional, highly skilled, honest, and friendly people that Pat Hennis and his son Austin Doll-Hennis.

Should you have any questions about this review or Phoenix Construction, please contact Pat or Austin and they will give you my contact information. I will be happy to talk with you.

Sincerely, PJF

It seems that in today's world that it is ok for businesses not to call back, follow up or show up for appointments as they have stated they would. In this case, this exact thing happened to me and my husband. We are in need of renovations to our home and have started they process of obtaining quotes for the renovation job. I have driven by a home that Phoenix Construction built and viewed their ad in a magazine, prompting us to reach out to Austin at Phoenix Construction. I left a message for Austin from the information provided in the advertisement. He called back and we set up possible dates for him to come visit our home. He stated he would call back the night before one of the dates to confirm. He never called back. I reached out to him and he apologized as his schedule had been hectic. We know things happen and we rescheduled for the following week at set time. After ensuring we were available and waiting 40 minutes past our scheduled date/time, I reached out to Austin. It was so disappointing to hear him say he forgot about us. This is not a small project by any stretch and the image of Phoenix Construction's professionalism was just ruined for us.
