Alco Construction are Big Cheaters, make false promises, no proper warranty support. DO NOT ULTILIZE THIS CONTRACTOR FOR YOUR HOMES. You would lose peace of mind, money and have to deal with issues everyday. Everything in the house is made with very poor quality materials!!!

1. Our home is less than 1 year old and we already have a leaked in our ceiling in the laundry room where is coming down from a dryer-vented pipe that were not sealed.

2.Refrigerator cabinet side panel is having a big gap when placed in Refrigerator.

3. None of the exterior doors are painted including ( Front main, Balcony on 2nd, rooftop and storage on roof top.

4.Squeaky floor noise on 2nd floor and hallway entry to master bedroom.

5.The balcony entrance door panel is missing mortar from the side.

- Communication are horrible, warranty issues, complaining are only be handle my emails no phone call or giving out phone contacts.

I would like to caution anyone considering doing business with these people. My experience has been excruciating to say the least! They throw their customer service out the window once you sign their contract and closing your home!!!!

Pro: Erin Hills townhouse 4beds/3.5 baths is beautiful modern design, it’s located in a good and convenient location in west valley city. Would be a great investment if R.D. hired someone else to build!!!!

Do yourself a favor that Do NOT HIRE ALCO construction company to work on your project, more headaches than you deserve!
Con:
ALCO construction company is a joke.
Delayed my townhouse more than a year, caused my interest went up double.
ALCO construction representatives are the worst, not professional, not responsive to warranty requests, not responsible to the work that they performed.
There were many issues such as: missing paint on interior walls and on stair rails, uneven flooring, missing concrete/cement filling around the window frame and door frame, hire inexperienced subcontractor to do flooring (messed up the laminate flooring and threshold plate that caused a gap in between and never fixed it correctly, they came and glued it down instead of put the threshold on top of flooring laminate now it’s delaminated again), I can tell you 15-20 more issues, however, below is one that I hate the most:
Roof leaking: requested them to fix the leaking issue in April, 2023, they came and repainted the affected ceiling area, not even opened the ceiling to clean it, not fixed the exterior area where the water came from!!!!
9/2023 the same area showed water leaking issue, requested to fix again, he finally responded after several emails but never fixed it, never gave an estimate when would they come and fix it!!!! As of today 10/14/23: still not fixed.
Again ALCO construction is one of the worst companies that I have ever worked with, you can only email them, you won’t be able to call a person to talk to!!!

Hello,
I'm one of the first buyers in October 2021.
I expected the house was to be complete in middle of 2022;
however, they didn't finish until December 2022
causing interest sky rocket.
There are pros and cons when I moved in.
I'd like to be transparent as much as I can.
I used to deal with lots of builders in the past;
but I would say I have never had bad experience like this builder
when it comes to quality control, and streamline of getting repairs done

First of all, I'd say seller agent Andy was responsive and dispatched to
warranty as soon as the repair was requested;
however, the streamline of getting things repaired was not smooth
as I expected and there are quite a few things on the list
need repair that have
NOT taken care of and up until now some of the things have not done yet.

Pros:
1. Love the floor plan
2. House in nice location
3. Modern design

Cons:

-When I first moved in December 2022 and early 2023,
roof leaked causing ceiling in master bedroom 3rd floor.

-Flooring was squeaky in some of the spots in living room, kitchen,
and 3rd floor.

-Tile in the bathroom in 1st floor was uneven

-Roof leak in 3rd floor by laundry room causing drywall damaged.

-Drywall cracks in 3rd floor, and living room.

-Garbage disposal was not working intermittently. It had already happened twice since
I've moved in. I had to hit reset to get it work again.

-Master bedroom in 1st room was so cold I couldn't sleep although I had been
instructed to close vents in kitchen and living room upstairs, but it was
not helping at all. I feel this creates a huge
issue in the long term for whomever stays in this room especially in winter months

Our company recently moved/expanded into a bigger retail showroom. ALCO was great to work with. They were professional in working with the engineering team we selected. The project was completed on time and on budget. There was great communication from their team throughout the entire process. I never had a moment where I felt I was in the dark on what was happening. Alan's attention to detail was top notch. There were a number of times we walked through the job site to look at how things were progressing and he would point out things to his staff, or call back sub-contractors that had been in to fix something that I didn't notice, and could barely see once he pointed it out to me. The work site was clean by end of work day (as clean as a construction site can be), we had a few unexpected problems arise through the build out because of the age of the building. Each time we were promptly made aware of the problem and presented options of how to deal with it. I highly recommend Alan and his team!

ALCO Construction is the contractor overseeing the new build for Erin Hills Estate in West Valley for the Rich Day Group. We closed on our townhome on August 2022. We still had a laundry list of items that need to be completed and at this point we are still waiting for any follow up! Our flooring on the second floor is uneven and ALCO decided to add additional subfloors in an attempt resolve the issue however this was completed around the existing cabinets. We have toe kicks with spacing varying from 2 1/2” inches to almost 4” inches. The grout in our bathrooms began cracking upon moving in and the grout around our backsplash is also cracking! We have been passed around from Spencer to Zach to Cole and lastly, Tony in the 2 past months for ongoing issues!

The builders sales agent has been responsive in attempting to get ALCO Construction to complete these items but at this point we believe they are hoping we just go away like other home owners have already done! Our outdoor patio hasn’t been completed! We received a bid to get our kitchen and master bathroom redone and it’s going to cost us $40k+! On a new build!

Our doorbell burnt out and the response was the the doorbell wiring runs hot!

Our fire alarms sounded off for two weeks. When the problem was located, we were told by the new electrician on the job that the alarms were wired incorrectly!

We still have not been given keys to the deadbolts on the rooftop patio and the water heater closet!

The list goes on and on! Buyers Beware

Tips:

1: I would recommend to anyone working with this company hire a home inspector to work you during your build process. We found that the sites did not have a quality control process which caused the redo of multiple major items in many units! Example: subfloors redone, broken or damaged appliances, damaged countertops, damaged carpets, etc.

2: Certificate of Occupancy is being issued from the city to close on these units. However once you close ALCO Construction is not completing the work promised at closing! I know of 3 home owners that completely given up on contacting ALCO Construction! If some of the items are completed, they are rushed and need to be redone!

3- They will tell you don’t worry these townhomes have a 1 year builder’s warranty. What good is the warranty if they can’t complete the job in the first place? What good is the warranty if they don’t respond?

4: Don’t take ownership until items are completed per the contract.
