I had an absolutely terrible experience with North Point Asset Management, and I would strongly advise anyone to stay away. The communication was horrendous from the start, with our rental manager constantly changing because employees were quitting left and right. We had difficult tenants who weren’t paying for months, and the company did almost nothing to help us. Nathan Linnell kept telling us the payments were "still being processed," but nothing ever came through. They also claimed to do a thorough background check, but they allowed felons to rent our property, which was completely unacceptable. It took over a month to get access to their portal, and when we finally did, there were no instructions on how to use it. When we asked them to post a 3-day pay or vacate order for the non-paying tenants, it took days for them to act, and we had to call multiple times just to get updates. I even asked Nathan to do a home inspection, and he told me it wasn’t his job and would cost extra. On top of all this, Nathan repeatedly told us how "lucky" we were to get such a "good price" because we were using their military discount. This company left us to handle almost everything ourselves, and overall, it was a horrible experience. I honestly can’t think of a single positive thing to say about Nathan Linnell or North Point Asset Management. I can't stress it enough, save yourself the headache and look elsewhere. This company should not be allowed to manage properties.

Had a wonderful experience as a tenant with Northpoint. Move in had a few hiccups with our originally assigned property manager, but move out was hassle free! Todd specifically was always attentive and responsive. Cannot recommend him or Northpoint enough!

Can you give a 0 star review? Completely unprofessional, I have mold in the basement of the house I'm renting from. Northpoint cannot respond to my phone calls or emails on timeframe or steps froward. Nathan Linnell is the regional manager for Utah I believe and he is very unresponsive, how does he have a job? A simple phone call back would go a long way, might even warrant a 2 star review...

This property management company has lost me a lot of money from lack of management and oversight. It took one entire year to evict a non paying tenant. They are not actively getting properties turned over for a new tenant and I have to follow up all the time. The tenant left April this year and the property is still vacant despite paying vendors over $20K to get the property fixed up. I have to deal with the vendor myself. The property sat without being checked on for several months and the furnace and water heater were stolen. If you want a hands off property management company than they are it. It’s so frustrating and I feel lack of confidence in their ability to manage. I am for sure switching property management companies.

I would stay away from Northpoint. I know on their website they say that they perform inspections to reduce repair costs, but after years of trying to get them to perform an inspection, they never performed one which cost me almost 10,000.00 in repars.
I was informed of flooding at the property. I quickly sent a restoration company to address the issue only to find that the so-called flooding was not caused by faulty plumbing but by half a dozen animals urinating and defecating all over the place. This was a property where no animals were allowed. The condition of the carpets was appalling, and I learned that the damage was extensive enough to require complete replacement. This is concerning because I’ve seen, first hand, similar cases where the smell was impossible to eradicate, even with professional help.

I reached out to Nathan at Northpoint, who was directly over my property, repeatedly to address the issue. All he did was send an email to the tenants telling them now to have animals. They continued to keep the animals and Nathan continued to not perform any inspections as I asked. One of his solutions was for me to take over the management.

Northpoit had many tenants live at the property for years. Since Northpoint could never provide documentation of the condition of the property for ANY time a new tenant was admitted to the property, it made it impossible to determine which tenant caused which damage.

Since I hired another company that has many good reviews, my rental income has grown by over 25%

I have a property in Ohio managed by Northpoint Asset Management since 2019. I have referred at least 10-12 families in Ohio and a couple in Utah to them. My brother's and cousin's properties is also managed by them in Ohio. So far they definitely deserve 5 star rating. Very soon I am planning to handover my Utah's property to them as well. I am very hopeful for the continuity of our relationship. I am pretty sure Utah's team is not less than Ohio's team.

I wish I could say something positive but I cannot. My son rented from Northpoint in excess of three years until recently. Last summer year he contacted them in regards to the renters on the other side of the twin home he rented and informed them that the police had been called by him as well as the neighbors in regards to noise. He was told to get a copy of the police report for them Apparently its the tenants responsibility to follow up on noise complaints. Last month, the police evacuated my son from his unit because the tenant next door was wanted for killing his fellow gang member. they wanted to access the other unit through the attic They were unable to arrest him that night but arrested a 16 yr old in connection with the murder. My son emailed and called Northpoint with no response. About a week after this incident, gunfire was shot inside the unit next door. The police were not able to reach Northpoint to enter the property and told my son to stay away from the common wall which was the kitchen, livingroom and master bedroom in order to catch the criminal Northpoint rented to. Finally Nathan returned my sons email days after initial messages and emails. He apologized and said that my sons email was in his spam folder. IS that where his phone calls went also? My son gave notice that he was moving 5 days after paying rent. Nathan refused to give his rent back prorated and asked if he evicted the tenants next door if he would stay. My son declined. My son relocated within a week and was told via email that he would have his deposit returned within 30 days of departure. The property was left immaculate and I have photos to prove it. Neighbors of the property contacted the owner 3 weeks after the incident as they were upset the tenants were still occupying the property. The owners had not been informed that they had a criminal inside their property , gunfire shot inside, the front door knocked down or anything pertaining to this. If you hired this management company to manage and care for your property, find good tenants you can be sure you will NOT get this from Northpoint. Since I put this review up Northpoint has still not returned my sons deposit. This could have been handled differently. They violated a tenancy agreement by putting my son in danger, quiet enjoyment was not provided and they did not follow Utah State Law in regards to returning deposits within 30 days. And now my son has no choice but to sue. Attorneys that were consulted said that Northpoint clearly violated the contract. All they had to do was give him his deposit back and he would have settled for that but due to how they handled the situation they now are potentially going to be sued in excess of of 10 times the deposit , rent,relocation costs, as well as punitive damages . As a property owner how would you feel paying a property management company to care for your property and to find out that they did not inspect their properties frequently as they claim, if so they would have noticed all the trash and furniture that was in the tenants carport from day one They would have noticed the broken blinds and the back yard grass up to your knees, They would have known that the woman they rented to only signed the lease agreement so that she could have her 16 yr old and 19 yr old live there instead of her. If it were your property you would be mortified. And then to not be notified that a wanted criminal was living in your property and firing bullets inside your property and now potentially being sued by a former tenant who took care of your property, paid his rent on time and had no intention of moving until this incident and was mistreated by property management . My son and I even after every thing that happened referred two separate parties we personally knew to Northpoint that wanted to rent the townhomes. The were told they could not rent it because they did not follow procedure and wait until it was advertised for rent. So they ran off good potential tenants as well
