We had come to the area last year to find a home. We thought we would buy an existing home but decided to also check out some builders and models homes. The few experiences we had prior to finding Lightyear were terrible. Customer service was non existent.

When we stepped into the model home at Lightyear, we were greeted by the owner and main designer himself, Matt Milar. Even though he must have been very busy, he took the time to make us feel like we were his focus. By the end of the day, we were designing my new theater that would be in our basement. We also rotated the originally designed garage 90 degrees so it would fit better on the lot we chose. All of this in minutes and at Matt's desk.

We had never built a home before and had a million questions, which Matt, Chacyne Carter and team helped us work through, one at a time. We now are very happy with our new home, with its customizations and aesthetics. Were there issues? Sure, everyone has them. There are many things to juggle when building a home. But the professionalism and care shown in how they took care of those issues was what really will keep us fans for life. We are very grateful for the day we walked into Lightyear Homes. It has changed our lives.

Matt is very impressive. From his professionalism to his vast knowledge, it was a pleasure to work with him. One thing that really impressed me was his extreme attention to detail making sure his contractors didn’t cut any corners and taking the time to remedy any and all issues getting ahead of many problems before they became problems. 10/10 would recommend.

I wanted to build a custom home on a lot I had selected in an amazing neighborhood. I met with and reviewed several builders from quality, production, and safety. After doing some very serious due diligence, I chose Lightyear Construction. From the beginning Matt and his team were very attentive and involved with every aspect of the build from the initial design, which we made completely custom, to material selection and color schemes. I have been very pleased with the experience that took about 9 months from the inception to moving in. At the end, like everyone else I wanted to close and get in the house, but Matt took the time to make sure the punch list items were completed prior to close and did an exceptional job in closing out the project. I'm very happy with my experience and I look at Matt as a friend now and I will recommend Lightyear Construction to anyone I know who is looking to build a custom home.

When my wife and I decided to finish our basement, we went to Lightyear Construction because Matt Milar originally built our home several years ago when he worked with his father. We were pleased with his work then, and we have not once regretted our decision this time. Matt met with us at our home and discussed what we wanted, offering many great suggestions. Matt was the first to respond to our request for a proposal. He not only had a competitive bid, but he also included a drawing of the basement plan he designed for us. The other contractors who gave us bids had not taken the time to draw plans. Soon after, we went to Matt’s office to discuss some changes we wanted, and he was able to revise the drawing so easily with his computer program. It was very helpful to immediately visualize every change that we discussed. The team at Lightyear Construction went to work right away on the project. Any concerns we had during the building process, Matt addressed immediately. Lightyear Construction is a builder that does quality work!

Lightyear Construction is a great company to work with. In a current booming Utah homebuilding market I feel like we received competitive pricing and a wonderful quality home. Matt spent the time with us over several weeks to design a custom house that our family loves and most importantly met our budget! Throughout the build process Matt never once came back to us to ask for additional cost increases or "change orders" which many builders commonly do. He stuck to his upfront pricing throughout the build process which was extremely helpful. Any change orders that were done were requested by us as we changed our mind on items throughout the build. Matt and Paige were helpful and easy to work with throughout the whole process. We were newbies with this being our first house build. Lightyear was good to deal with as we brought up issues we saw during the build and making sure these issues would get resolved. The house was completed start to finish in 6 months. We love and our happy with our new house and recommend Lightyear if you are looking for a homebuilder.
