I appreciate the staff at Lavale, (Cumberland) Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration offices. I began going there in 2011, and it was a pleasant and expedient service received.
In 2015, through 2016, as part of my employment, I had to secure driving records of my employees numerous times over a period of eight months.
The staff had already known me from previous interactions, but when they realized I was becoming a permanent fixture of their location, they began to assist me directly (when they were able) so my visits would not be as long an arduous as it could have been.
You never forget things like this, kindness is such a misplaced virtue, but I remember everyone (not by name, sorry) by their smiling faces, and appreciate what they had done for me.

I recently moved here from the state of Ohio. I bought a car before my move. In the state of Ohio, when you finance a car, you get a memorandum title you do not get a certificate of title. I went here to get my car registered, title transfer and tags before my temporary tag expires. The first time I went, they kept trying to tell me that my title was my registration, and I kept trying to tell them this is my memorandum title showed them the registration for my temporary tag from the state of Ohio. This is my title memorandum. Well when you get your title come back. so I called the dealer ask them if this was my title I didn’t understand that Maryland does an actual certificate of title with the lienholder on it. Found this out on my third visit. The man at the intake desk knew exactly what the problem was took me over to the window on my third visit and the employee at the window kept trying to tell me “I know the state of Ohio will be sending you a certificate of title”. I’m trying to tell her they do not do that in Ohio. “Oh, I know they do you’ll be getting it in the maiI”. Wanting to argue with me when I know for a fact they do not. I am from Ohio. I have bought a few cars in that state and when you finance a car, you do not get a certificate of title . You get a MEMORANDUM title. I asked what am I supposed to do if my tags expire before you get the paper you need from my bank. Be careful. That’s Rich you’re not the one having to drive around with an expired tag possibly ,you’ll get a letter in the mail when we get the title from your bank. WHAT This is total incompetence!! They did not seem to comprehend the state of Ohio does it differently than Maryland I had to call my bank to find out what was going on. They said go down there and tell us what they need. We do out-of-state registrations all the time we don’t understand what they want. I think maybe they need to do some more training!! I am giving a two instead of a one because when I went to get my drivers license, it was smooth and easy process.

Came to surrender my license for a suspended license back in March. Lady at front desk did not input my information into the system correctly and nor gave me a recipe of the transaction. Had to call back a month later when I realized the it was never put in the systems and because of her mistake my 180 days never started. Even though I turned my license in on time. So my time got pushed back a month. Train your employees better. I’m 21 and don’t know anything about surrendering my license. Went from simple speeding violation to over 180 without my vehicle.

Went to use kiosk so didn't need an appointment which honestly is a big fall back on the MVA is that you need an appointment now to see someone and do certain things. The kiosk is easy to use but only accepts cash and since we paid with a card we were sent to someone anyway to get taken care of but the wait wasn't long and the checkout was very fast and friendly. Just wish it was walk in still for everything else.

The security guard is carrying the customer service experience of this MVA ON HIS BACK. He’s always so nice and friendly. Why? I don’t know but I sure do appreciate it. Everyone else is alright too.
