Moving here was one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made in my life. From my apartment having the worst humid conditions I’ve ever endured, to my car being broken into, and now to my ceiling leaking water all over my things. The best part is the blatant negligence and disregard from the leasing office. They do the ultimate bare minimum and if it were up to them you would never see or speak to them.

The garage door has been broken for the majority of my time here. There has been no increase in security or consistent communication addressing the garage door. Yet, we are still being charged the same amount every month to park with no regard to our safety.

The air quality is bad as well. I never had sinus infections before... I had three the entire time I was living here. I do not recommend.

SAFETY ISSUE EXISTING FOR YOUR FAMILY AND LOVED PETS!!

I have to tell potential residents about serious safety concerns at The Edition. During my stay, a significant hazard in the kitchen posed a direct threat to my pet's safety. There was a gap between the cabinet in the kitchen and the wall, into which my cat tragically fell and became trapped. Despite immediately seeking assistance from the management, their response was alarmingly indifferent. They informed me that nothing could be done and mentioned a substantial fee I would face if any damage occurred while extracting my pet. I was crying and calling the animal control service and asking for help from them. Imagine if my baby fell into that gap, I don't know if the office will tell me the same thing, saying nothing they can do to save a life.

This incident highlights a profound lack of empathy and responsibility from the property management, which claims to be pet-friendly. No tenant should have to fear for their pet’s safety due to poor apartment design or management’s negligence. Furthermore, upon moving out, I was unfairly charged for pre-existing conditions and am now dealing with a collection agency, adding insult to injury.

Please consider this serious safety lapse and management’s response when choosing your next home. Tenant safety should be a top priority, and unfortunately, it was not my experience at The Edition.

Issues: However the garbage is an issue here. The mailing system is an issue here. Also they never put things in properly. Example the storages. If the assistant manager would of applied them to everyone accounts when they received access than it would not be an issue. Assistant manager does not know what he doing and the concierge here is trash. She is lazy.

Positives: I love the police in the area they respond fast. Location is cool. Apartment is spacious and reasonable. Leasing Assistant and Manager work their ass off! Pool and gym is everything here ! Equipment upkeep and maintenance is awesome. Loading dock accessible.I moved in August quick turn around with application. Process with leasing she is the most amazing employee at this property. Even though trash clutters fast here we at least have valet trash and they keep up the hallways!

With better staff I can see this being a 4 star property ! Let’s see how the rest of the year goes ! ❤️👏🏾!

This complex has been wonderful from the moment Antonia showed us the apartment to almost a year of living here. She was very helpful in the application process and through the duration of the year. The amenities are always available and well-maintained, and Erica, the concierge, has been fantastic as well. The tenants are kind and respectful, and the location is ideal. Highly recommend!

After living for weeks in The Edition:

Moving from another state can be troubling but Antonia helped me from the beginning and I was able to successfully move in without a hard time. The Edition is lucky to have Antonia in the office and she is the greatest asset this community has.

Tenants can have access to a really nice gym, club house, and many other amenities. But the nicest part is that we have a very friendly concierge who welcomes you. Also, the location is really nice. We have a grocery that's literally next to the community and a mall that's just across the street. Public transportation (bus/subway) is easy to use. Other groceries are within minutes giving us choices which I think is a big plus. The floor plan for one bedroom is really nice and spacious. Everything is modern and I love my kitchen. Also, I really love the fact that I can rest in quiet and peaceful environment in my apartment after work. So far I feel lucky that I found this place!

I moved to Maryland in the Fall of 2023. Out of all of the apartments and houses I toured to rent, The Edition stood out to me. Not only is it a beautiful space but all of the staff, from the front desk to those that perform maintenance, greeted me warmly.

The manager, Antonia Miller, has been particularly wonderful. She is accessible, incredibly responsive to questions, and she genuinely enjoys her job!

No matter how small the maintenance request, the team was quick to schedule service. You are alerted via email when regular maintenance is anticipated for your apartment. They also hold periodic events for residents. I've been very impressed with the care and attention that is given to the building and the courtesy that is given to its residents.

It has been a quiet and beautiful space for a lot of healing. Although there are many dogs in the building (mine included), the grounds around the building were impeccably cleaned.

Sending so much love and appreciation to this community.

Antonia is a fantastic property manager. She was able to get me the exact apartment I wanted, and stayed in contact with me for almost 4 months until the unit became available. Always friendly and fast to respond to all of my texts and emails; I have had a great experience this first quarter here at the edition.

Thank you,
Lucas

I toured this complex among a few others in summer 2023, hoping to have a bigger unit than the one I did in my last apartment. When I came for a tour of The Edition, the floor plan I wanted was not available, but I did have a chance to see another available unit. Seeing the other unit was helpful because it allowed me to see what the color scheme of the units might've been and helped give me a sense of how the space is laid out. I've learned that even if apartments have the same square footage, the layout of that square footage doesn't always look the same. The unit Darion showed me back then was available immediately, but unfortunately it wasn't the best one suited for me. I still took his info and the complex's info and continued my tours. A few weeks after that tour with Darion, he called me back to let me know that the floor plan I wanted was available, but he warned me to apply fast, as units tend to be claimed really quickly. He worked with me and answered a lot of my questions throughout the application process. The fact that he called me weeks after our tour to let me know that what I wanted became available really left a good impression on me. So, I moved into The Edition in mid-September 2023. After nearly a year, I haven't had any serious issues. I've rarely had to call maintenance for anything and every staff person I've interacted with has been pleasant. The worst that has happened in my apartment was a breakdown with my AC unit during the early part of summer, but after putting the request in, maintenance regularly checked in with me, reassured me that a contractor for the AC unit would repair it, and loaned me a portable AC unit until my main unit was fixed. They gave me a time estimate on repairs and finished faster than they said they would. In terms of my immediate unit, I have no complaints. I love living here. The location is also top-tier; I'm just minutes from DC, a block and a half away from the Hyattsville Crossing Metro Station and across the street from PG Mall. Grocery stores are also a stone's throw away if you like going to Giant or Safeway. If you don't there's a Whole Foods just 1 mile away in Riverdale Park. The area is very student heavy too with college students and middle/high school students. I myself am a graduate student. Despite how much I've liked it here, I do have constructive feedback I'd give. The clubroom is a nice space and is available if you want to get work done or just chill with friends, but the pool table inside of it shows signs of aging. Some of the pool sticks are also broken or unusable, which gives the impression that the amenities aren't regularly checked on by staff which can discourage folks from using them or from moving in if the amenities are the big draw for them while touring. There's a TV monitor in the mailroom that's never been turned on since I've lived here and a few other monitors in the lobby area that also have never been turned on before. Those are minor but just leaves me curious about what they're used for. Some complexes post train schedules on them so maybe they do so here too? It would be helpful to have those if that were the case. The last thing I'll say is that the door mat I had outside my unit door was either stolen or thrown away. I've never been told that I couldn't have a door mat so at first, I didn't think it was staff. But there is cleaning staff that regularly vacuums the hallway, and I wondered whether they just grabbed my door mat and tossed it in the trash because it got in the way of their vacuuming. I would've preferred that they just come and tell me that it needed to be moved but they didn't. This assumes it was the cleaning staff though because I don't know for sure. I've enjoyed living here enough to stay put and really have appreciated the majority of the staff during the few moments I've made requests or had a question. I just wish there was more routine care put into some of the amenities and that there were some community events announced via the app so that I could maybe hob knob with some of my neighbors.
