Matt and his team did the design and plans for our addition last year. We were very happy with their work and service. Matt personally served as a go-between between us and our builder to make sure that we were asking the right questions, that the project was going to plan, and that the builder didn't miss any detail. Matt also helped get the permits in with the Arlington County permit office, which was welcomed assistance. Overall we would recommend McD Studio to anyone looking for architectural help!

Their pricing structure has been fair, transparent and reasonable given the incredible work they do. They came in well below alternative bids and helped us discover a design / build firm that was trying to undercut us and ultimately helped is save $3,000 and get a higher quality product (LVT vs engineered wood) I highly recommend them for all types of renovations!

Recently engaged with McDStudio for design on a new construction project. Cannot say enough good things!

We were interested in a modern design with lots of high-performance details; Matt not only delivered, but really exceeded our expectations. Designs came out beautifully, they coordinated with engineering firms (and recommended cost-effective engineering options) to create complete plans, and even suggested builders we could partner with. We also really appreciated familiarity with different techniques and materials, and great flexibility in giving multiple options for the same results.
Communication was great, we were on a tight timeline and everyone was flexible with us. We got 3D plans we could engage with to help visualize the space, along with everything needed for permitting and building, and great advice on details and conventions we wouldn't otherwise have thought of.

MCD Studio was hired to manage the permitting process and completely failed. They neglected to mention that DDOT needed to be part of the process, resulting in a stop work order, fines, and I had to hire another architect to draw up the additional plans that were required to go back to DOB and DOEE for a second round of permits.

Their mistake and lack of accountability resulted in 6 months of delays, fines, and duplicate permitting fees.
