I saw problems with the framing of my new home roof (Legend homes), and I suspected a standard inspection would not do. I got an inspection from FIF. They were prompt and professional both in doing the inspection and sending me a report. If you need an engineering inspection as a homeowner, I would refer you to FIF. I did the price was a bit steep, as the inspection took no more than 20 minutes and was limited to just a very small area of my home, but the service and product were exactly what I needed.

A great Engineering, Architecture, and permitting services. They know exactly what to do. Price was very reasonable, they offered a very good discount, on top of that they did all the permitting process for free of cost for us. The City of Houston was being very difficult, we were overwhelmed with this and that requirements but the team at FIF stayed on top of it. We are for sure sending you guys a holiday gifts. Thank you so much FIF :))

Shockingly incompetent. I am not sure who they are paying to write their good reviews, but this company does not understand basic permitting requirements. They will charge thousands of dollars to make (very basic) plans that will end up not complying with a single city of Houston code, and then it will take you weeks and months to convince them to make edits, they will pretend they don’t understand what you are saying, you will call and call, they will finally agree to make changes, which will, yet again, not comply with any city permit requirement. Shockingly incompetent. Avoid at all cost, save your money and time- we were out almost $4k and about 6 months of time wasted with them. There are significantly cheaper and much more competent places out there. We ended up hiring a new draftsman who got all plans drafted, approved and permitted within couple of weeks and for half of cost.

Even though my request was a design for a rainwater collection system which is outside their typical designs the FIF team was more than accommodating for my request. They were also very prompt easy to reach, and quickly provided a turnaround time and a quote.

Hired FIF Engineering to inspect a large building in Houston area. They were very quick to respond, inspect and provide the report as promised. I would recommend FIF Engineering.

Was not happy with the quality of the work they provided. They did not do proper due diligence of understanding the joist layout. It took them way too long to provide a layout of the house. Redlines for drawings I sent them came back incorrect. When I called to get an understanding of their final layout, they did not seem to understand their own drawing and did not seem to understand the difference between a 2x4 and a 2x6. Due to the improper layouts provided, the beams ordered were twice as long as they needed to be. Aside from poor quality of the work, they seem to be fairly disorganized as I keep getting calls from them thinking I'm a different project. My contractor has worked with them before and was not happy with their work for our project and I have worked with these guys before for a simple design and had little issues due to the simplicity of the project, but with this most recent project I had so many issues with them that I will not work with them in the future.

Bijay of FIF Engineering went the extra mile to help me when my contractor dropped the ball on some paperwork I had to have for my HOA in order to begin a renovation that was on a tight timeline. I called him first thing on a Friday morning and not only did he answer before 8 am, he booked an appointment to view the property and make an assessment before noon. It was a holiday weekend with all other offices closed on Monday, and he got me the paperwork I desperately needed on Sunday! He was helpful in making small revisions to the plans at no extra charge and even followed up a few weeks later to be sure I had everything I needed. Bijay is kind, punctual, an excellent communicator, and very knowledgeable. I will be using him exclusively for all of my structural engineering needs moving forward. Highly recommend!

I was in need of a structural engineer so I went through Home Advisor. Bj contracted me right away and we discussed my possible foundation issue. Bj is a true professional in every sense. He listened to my issue, carefully observed and thoroughly assessed the situation. He communicated in plain language and was not super technical. I would definitely recommend Bj to anyone looking for an engineer!
