In an age where EVERYONE is lazy and unmotivated Brian Hopkins of Hopkins Architects remains professional, punctual and VERY good at his craft.

We began a project early last year and and after firing the architect we initially hired after 6 weeks of no responses and missed meetings we were recommended Hopkins Architects.

I met Brian and he was sympathetic to our situation. We told him we needed to get paperwork in for permitting within the next two weeks and true to his word on the 10th day everything was filled.

Over the course of this project Brian was easily accessible and open about when he wouldn’t be. He hit every deadline. Handled frustrating discussions between local building departments and contractors and overall has just been a good dude.

He’s even been gracious enough to walk me through some other designs he’s been working on. I’m a fan of modern residential architecture and when I asked for his opinion I could literally see him nerd out just like a kid showing you his Pokémon card collection. It speaks to his passion and desire to create. A quality I’ve found rare amongst people

Picture it, Sicily, Christmas Eve 2023 - a pipe freezes and breaks in a second floor bathroom. Water cascades down three levels. One of two bathrooms in a house with teenagers is out of commission. We fast tracked the renovation we had planned for the room and our Contractor got started ASAP.

But we rushed. And forgot the building permit. And then we got a stop work order and everything fell apart. We needed an architect IMMEDIATELY, and as we came to learn, Architects aren't hurting for work so finding one to help us quickly was murder.

But we found Brian - and with it, salvation. He was super responsive throughout our entire engagement, which resulted in top quality drawings to get back on track in record time. He was super transparent about costs and timing and kept every promise. He was patient, a strong communicator, answered all our questions, and suffered our emotional moments. His use of modern methods for communication, file sharing, invoicing, etc. was highly efficient and helpful.

Perfect residential architect? Don't have a lot to compare to, but feels like it. Obviously we highly recommend him (as did the architectural firm we reached out to who was too busy and referred us to him - a competitor!)
