They used to be a good partner to work with, and I appreciate their detailed soils report. But these days because of plenty works, they become arrogant and cause several absences for DCRA underpinning meetings. In a recent job they refused to provide the monitoring plan as they always did because they are not satisfied being excluded of the structural design.

As as customer and Principal of a small architecture practice, I want to respectfully express concerns regarding the lack of professionalism and mal-practice we received from the structural engineering sector and specifically the President of the sector, Fadil Abdelfatah.

I've worked with many consultants, some good, some not-so-good. But I have never been treated so unprofessionally in my 10yr career practicing architecture. Fmc is regarded as one of the "premiere" companies so I was looking forward to working with a premiere structural consultant. Turns out, that was a huge mistake. To start, we received uncompleted drawings, miscalculated load criteria (very scary) and missing critical details that are needed for construction. You would think that they would correct this right? Wrong. They ignored multiple emails from my team requesting updates. When they finally responded, they demanded that we pay before we are given update deliverables. Not to mention the countless "!!!" after every sentence from the President? For what?

The best part..... "We don't even need your little money this project isn't even big enough" They have been paid out full and still have not submitted completed deliverables.

I'm not on here to bad-mouth this company. I'm only sharing our experience so the next time you consider working with them - DONT. Spare yourself and your client the lost time and money wasted.

I was told this was a small firm with big problems and they were right. No real training, no room for growth, the President believes strongly in cheap labor and long hours. The operation lacks consistency and the business is hanging on by a select few versus investing in effective outsourced training to equip the faithful employees that they do have.

There's no real management only favoritism with plenty of under the table cash flow (bonuses). But everything done in the dark will come out to light. This company was built by their reputation and surely they will fall by it.
