We start with 5 stars and then explain. We owned a condo that was bought new in 2004. We decided we wanted a single family home but having lived outside the U.S. most of the interim years the market was hard to navigate. Our financial advisor referred us to Patty and Kenny Smallwood who showed us some properties. Then we decided we wanted to live in a single home in a 55+ community. Rather than be frustrated at our indecision they quickly focused on our new desires. That process moved quickly and smoothly; it was a few short weeks when we moved to our beautiful home in a wonderful 55+ community. Every T was crossed and every I dotted. We were delighted with the service so used them to sell the condo. It was another excellent experience.

When we finally landed on our dream home, Patty was outstanding in ensuring that we were happy with the outcome. While selling we found the marketing plan and photos to be very well done and the advised list price was spot on. I rated 2 stars vs 1 star as I have to say I really loved my real estate agent. Johanna was amazing and super helpful. The reason I do not rate the Maryland Real Estate Network higher is overall I was not happy or impressed with them. The original contractor we had to help do updates to the house was recommended by them and also employed by them as a real estate agent, the experience with him was less than stellar. I would not recommend him for work around your house. The second contractor (John) was good and I would recommend him. I felt the team lead for Johanna (Patty) was very pushy and had her own agenda. She is supposed to work for the customer but then didn't like the house price we wanted to sell for or discussions on placing an offer without first selling the house. We would have lost the house of our dreams if Johanna didn't work with us and put in the offer. We ended up selling to a person using the MD Real Estate Network,, and the other agent at the closing table did nothing but look at her phone. It was rude and disrespectful. Additionally, there was a dispute with the purchasers of the old house and I felt that MD Real Estate Network did not have our back as they should have because they knew the other couple and sided with them, playing favorites. I would not recommend them for selling or buying your home.
