I had lived here since last July and it's been overall a pleasant experience. The only big issue I have had is they towed my car from the complex parking lot (I still had out-of-state plates even though my permit was valid) but it was resolved once I provided proper documentation and explained the situation. The front office has always been helpful when I have had questions and it's a relatively quiet place (as far as apartment living can be quiet) because it is near lots of other apartment complexes. It's near enough to DC that I can pop in without issue and it's an affordable starter apartment for people just moving to the area. Other than small issues that seem normal for apartment living, it's been a good experience and I would recommend it for those looking for affordable housing!

I’ve been in Anton house apartments since January. Since my move here, there have been several issues living here. My bedroom door was broken, the entrance door wasn’t closing well, my counter in the kitchen was falling down. Though I did address these issues, there has been a couple MAJOR issues. My car got broken into July 7th and the front office said ā€œwell - there’s nothing we can do about itā€ with a shrugging off attitude. Latoya Hannah (manager) helped me out to file an incident report but it has been 3 weeks now since my issue with my bedroom ceiling. She hasn’t gotten back to me about any sort of compensation or help after. Granted- if I didn’t go to her - my problem would have never been resolved as quickly as it did. The ceiling / roof fell through in my bedroom July 14th as you can see. Not only did I report an issue with a leak prior - look at all that mold. I was concerned about potential health hazards / risks. It has been hell living here because you’re not only ignored - you’re not valued. 0/10 rating. I do not recommend living here.

This place is very unprofessional. They offer units with only half of the apartments electricity works and units that has mice infestation . The light appliances falling off the ceilings. There was cardboard boxes on the ceilings on the first walk through in the hallways. The elevator is always dirty it never works, so be prepared to walk up flights of stairs. The rental office staff is very rude and the way they handle residents is basically non existent. You have to call at least 5 times to get any answers or any help. And then they harass you for rent and threaten you with court papers. Even when the reason for no payment was due to unsafe living conditions and was approved by a manager until issue was resolved. But corporate doesn't care so please beware. And all of this happened in the first month, DO NOT MOVE HERE.

To start, i’ve lived here for almost a year and i would say it’s been a TERRIBLE experience. Consistent rats and roaches running around, dogs (who aren’t supposed to be here) pooping wherever on the grounds and NOONE picks it up, the parking situation being a mess, incredibly loud neighbors, consistent police activity & gunshots every night. My quality of life has gone down ever since i’ve set foot in Iverson Towers. The elevators seemed to break at least once a month as previously mentioned in reviews, and the washer and dryers leave a weird stench on your clothes as well as flood the lobby. I came here to find a better living and all i’ve found is problem after problem. Pest control has been in and out and the problem remains. Word of the wise: If i was you… please do not come here even if it’s the cheapest you could find, as you will slowly but surely experience the same problems I have. RUN AWAY.

Unfortunately I’ve recently had to update my review to remove some stars as I’ve been living here since 2018 and I’ve never had any issues until recently. I am transferring from one apartment to another, and the lack of communication amongst the office staff has been unreal. I was initially told I could pick up keys early for a smooth transition, then that was updated to I wouldn’t be able to see the apartment until the day before and I was told to specifically come in the evening, THEN when I get there to see the apartment the Assistant Manager knows nothing about the conversation I had with the Community Manager about seeing my apt the day before, and now I can’t even see the apartment until the day I pick up keys. To say I’m frustrated and disappointed is the least considering I previously had nothing but nice things to say about the building and management since I’ve lived here since 2018 with no complaints and on time rent. At this point I’m kind of nervous about extending my lease here considering how things have gone recently. I guess as long as you don’t need the office staff to communicate with each other regarding anything concerning your apartment you should be fine. AND make sure you get any conversations you have in WRITING because their words clearly mean nothing.

UPDATE 9/17/22 - My experience with Janella on move-in day made me feel better about extending my lease here. I briefly mentioned my frustrations above and she apologized even though she had nothing to do with anything I was frustrated about. Her level of customer service made all the difference for me.

I lived here for 6 years and moved because the neighborhood is just getting too bad. There are frequent robberies at night and over the time I was there, my car was damaged 3 times from either a break in or a drunk person running into cars all over the parking lot. The elevators seemed to break at least once a month, even after they ā€œreplacedā€ them (which is devastating if stairs are difficult for you or if you live on a high floor) and the washer and dryers leave a weird stench on your clothes, they definitely need to be replaced. I lived at the top of the building so I didn’t experience any rodents, but I knew people on lower floors that had ongoing issues.

The units have nice, spacious bedrooms and a huge living room but the kitchens are tiny with MINIMAL counter space, which can make it difficult to cook. Master baths are also pretty small (water pressure in the showers are weak). For some reason the water bills are unusually high at this building, even if you don’t use it frequently...I’m talking over $70 a MONTH and it only gets worse in the winter and summer. I liked that there’s concrete between each floor so you won’t hear the people above or below you unless they’re literally trying to make noise and the walls aren’t paper thin. There’s a trash chute on each floor so you don’t have to hike across the parking lot to dump anything. You also get a nice view of the city depending on how high up you are. You will experience some rude and slow to move people in the rental office but there’s at least one person in there who has some sense. The maintenance team is polite and try to knock your issues out quickly. Also, the building is directly next to an elementary school and your children can walk. All in all, it wasn’t terrible but that building could REALLY benefit from some upgrades to the appliances and security cameras outside.

I have lived here for a week now. It's a quiet building during the daytime and after 10pm. Not much foot traffic, which is good and it seems safe. Residents are cordial, but not overly friendly, and the property is maintained very well. In the 7 days I have been here, the elevators have been broken for at least half that time. My furniture arrived and we had to carry a queen size bed and box spring up 3 flights. Thank God I don't live closer to the top floor. Office staff is hit or miss. They can be difficult to get a hold of, but when you do they are helpful. My apartment was clean and inviting, and they gave me free toilet paper, popcorn, and lemonade on move-in day. The appliances are nice and clean, but the hallway always smells like fried food and weed. The laundry room was closed when I moved in but has been reopened since. A few minor issues with sliding doors have popped up but I am handy with tools and it was nothing to fix it. All in all, I am happy so far.
