Curt is a personal friend whom we met during a house renovation he was doing near our house in Mill Valley. We checked the progress of the job on our walks through the neighborhood. As a former renovator myself, I can say that that renovation turned out great...attention was given to every small detail. (He had readjusted one window about 6" to be centered, something I had noticed earlier and that he had caught separately!) The overall result is a great improvement to the neighborhood. Fits in perfectly.
But what really excited me was when he mentioned that, on another nearby site he was renovating, he was using a housing demolition company who actually RECYCLED all the materials. This is a unique concept...especially since so much material from 'deconstructing' a building is still serviceable. It fits into my idea of recycling on a larger level. Most people would just demo the building and haul away the rubble. Kurt impresses me as a far more thoughtful individual and I applaud his concern for environmental issues. The other day on Next Door, a social media site for our neighborhood, I saw where someone had gone by this site, noticed the company's promotional sign, and posted online about how exceptional this practice is..it's nice to know people do care!
My husband and I are getting older now, we've been in our home for some 35 years. So at some point we'll be selling our own house. I'm thinking we'll enlist Kurt as our agent.
