I recently had to close my restaurant Picnic on Third due to COVID and was going through some old photos and remembering the start. Josh & Carrie were delightful to work with and took us step by step with concept, design, aesthetic, planning, permitting. We were on a really tight budget which they respected. They also figured out how to do my wild idea for a spice wall that was fully usable. Thanks Larson Shores team for making my dream cafe! I would certainly do another project with them in the future.

We had the great pleasure of working with Josh and the team at Larson Shores on our major remodel project at our home in Orinda. We started to "think" about our plans pre-Covid and the collaborative, creative and professional process with Josh was excellent. He took the time to get a feel for our style and not only was key in developing our building plans, but added the value of bringing us several great contractors to choose from and stayed engaged through out our build to manage changes, additions and any small issues that arose during the project. I would work with Josh and Larson Shores again and I highly recommend them to any interested homeowner.

Working with Larson Shores was fantastic from the very beginning! Their design briefs were well articulated and really connected with the philosophy of what we're going for in our restaurant. And the one we selected was woven beautifully throughout our space. They were a pleasure to work with, very flexible and innovative, and helped us get the most bang for our buck, especially since they're qualified to draw up plans as well as just provide designs (a crucial thing to look for in architecture firms!). I would happily work with them again given the chance.

Josh was our architect for a kitchen and bathroom remodel in our 1950 San Francisco rowhouse. He was attentive to our requirements and feedback and produced designs that were practical, creative and appealing. He provided helpful recommendations for contractors and for sourcing appliances and fixtures, and he kept in touch with us and the contractor as construction progressed. We’re very happy with our new kitchen and bathroom.

Working on our remodel with Joshua at Larson Shores was a pleasure at every stage of the process. Joshua is a wonderful listener, who genuinely wants to understand his client's vision and interact with it. He is amazingly creative in thinking of different ways to bring that vision to life. And he has a tremendous sense of style and its possibilities--both the way a design will work functionally, and the way that its elements will cohere aesthetically. Joshua sketches possibilities beautifully, even on the spot, which makes the process of designing not only effective but also fun! On so many occasions, while I struggled to say what I wanted, he jotted down a sketch based on what he was hearing me say, and I thought "Yes! that is exactly what I have in mind!" We just love what we managed to accomplish working with Joshua; our remodel gives us pleasure every single day. Not least, Joshua understands the emotional toll that a remodel can take, and he was there for me throughout the whole process, able to help mediate with various suppliers and contractors. He did it all. I cannot imagine what it would have been like to do a remodel without him. Through his brilliance and care in working on our home, Joshua has made a permanent place for himself in our lives.

Josh was the only architect I interviewed who came prepared to both fulfill my request as instructed AND provided ideas of how to improve the space. This was incredibly important to my husband and I because we didn't truly have an idea that best used the space available to us - Josh did. After hiring him, Josh and his team were able to provide guidance on hiring contractors, and were both easy and wonderful to work with. If I were remodeling again, I'd hire them again.
