When I told a Procore rep I didn't want to keep paying for the bidding module, they offered to give me a demo. Here is my response:

I’m not going to spend ten seconds investigating any new features in Procore considering how atrophied the easy features (RFIs, Submittals, Schedule, Drawings, etc.) have become… they were literally better four years ago.

After wasting thousands of hours on Procore, Procore can pay me $750/hr to sit through a demo.

Procore has two main problems that will melt subscribership to zero over a ten-year period.

One: people don’t like using it. Subcontractors, architects, engineers, and every other person that has to interact with it complains about it. Internally, we end up PDFing emails and posting them to RFIs manually. If your platform is so obtuse that DEGREED ENGINEERS can’t be bothered to figure out how it works: it sucks. No one had to convince anyone to use Facebook. Procore categorically drives users away. That’s a winning formula for a SAAS platform. It is simpler for us to just handle issues over email, the phone, or Teams. Forget about trying to get subs to submit bids through Procore. We wasted hundreds of hours setting up bid packages on the bidding module and ended handling everything with email and a spreadsheet because we could only get a handful of subs to submit proposals in Procore. Even when they did, they just uploaded a PDF of their proposal, which defeats the purpose of the module anyway.

Two: it’s annoying. I get hundreds of Procore emails a day. Years ago, I just created a folder and an email rule that puts everything right into the trash (unless it’s from Elizabeth). My staff knows they need to contact me outside of Procore if they need me to approve something in Procore. I already know the counter argument, “you know you can change your notification settings, right?” I know. Notification settings remain the most opaque feature on the entire platform. I don’t know what notification checkboxes govern what. You can manage notifications by account, project, module within a project, or in some setting I stumble across. The only way I have found to effectively staunch the deluge of pointless emails has been to abandon the module completely. No matter what I click, I still get hundreds of emails. Even if I figure it out, I can’t hope to effectively train dozens of architects and engineers on how to manage their notifications.

Horrible company, horrible product. I'd like to see a certain billionaire buy this company and gut it too. Maybe then it would work.

Literally the most unscrupulous company I've ever had the displeasure of working with. Procore failed on every level and never got my software functional after six months of frustration. You're welcome for the $20,000 that I got literally no benefit out of.
