Let me tell you - My fiancé and I have been living here for 4 years now and we have zero complaints! All the amenities are very clean and pretty much always available to use with no disruption. Comfortable, quiet and clean units. Walk in shower, in unit washing and dryer machine and the kitchen are all brand new and never had any problems with anything. Simple and clean. Our unit is on the 1st floor which is above the garage, so we never had any bug problems as other apt. complexes have to complain about.

The staff here at the complex has changed a couple of times since I have been here but every single one of them have accommodated my asks with no hesitation. They are always there if you needed something.

To the staff - Melissa, Brittany, Sal and Anthony - You four have been the most amazing team to make our living experience the absolute best. Melisa and Brittany will answer any questions you have with a pretty good response time. Sal and Anthony - you guys are amazing with the upkeep of the property making sure everything is always running smoothly.

Paula and I thank you guys for making our living experience the absolute best. If we weren't purchasing a home we for sure would have made our stay here a lot longer but it's time to grow up and buy a house.

Thanks again for everything.

I lived at this property and really enjoyed my stay there. Melissa at the leasing office was very helpful and always ready to assist. She made the move-out process really easy for me! Sal the maintenance supervisor was very helpful too. He responds quickly to any request with a smile on his face.

It is hard to find that perfect place to rent … in fact it can be stressing you out ….. but if you are lucky to get in contact with Desiree … all questions will be answered and she’ll make you feel like Home 😉 she is amazing and knowledgeable! Friendly and ready to help.

Be careful with this apartment complex. At first glance, brand new and luxurious, a deeper look reveals overpriced and flawed apartments.

BACKSTORY: A current resident informed us that they have priced themselves out of the market, have been forced to reduce prices, and still can't achieve reasonable occupancy.

SHADY MANAGEMENT: We are relocating to OC from San Francisco, and a couple of weeks ago came down to OC looking at a few properties including Anton. Nathan sold us hard on a top floor unit. My husband and I both liked it but we were concerned about the pricing because it was comparable to a few properties in a better location (Newport Beach). My husband asked about the pricing and Nathan said because of fair housing laws the units have to all be rented at the same price. This is simply not true as there are employee discounts, flash sales, commercial tenant deals that make the same unit a different price. He then sold us hard on their 2-month hold. I have never heard of such a long hold period, but Nathan assured me that that's how they're doing it to stay competitive and this will buy us 2 months. We then went through an extensive application process which in my 20+ years of renting I've never seen, and got approved.

Right after we placed the hold (still in the CA 72-hour refundable hold period), Nathan started war-dialing us to sign the lease. We kept explaining that even though we intended to sign the lease shortly, we needed a bit of time and that's why we had agreed to this generous hold. At one point (still within the 72-hours), he told us that someone else really wanted our unit but had to take the one two floors below. We told him that he's not supposed to show a unit under a hold, so he backtracked and said he just told the tenants about it which is still not ok. Over the next couple of days, my husband talked to Stephanie who encouraged us to wait for the Thanksgiving promotion, that everyone in the office has been told not to show our apartment (even if the system releases the hold), and that we'll at least get a right of first refusal. The day before Thanksgiving, we came to OC to sign our lease and called the complex at 11 am. We were told that they leased the unit. We challenged them that the hold was never released as we've been checking twice a day and even got a mass email notifying that they'll enter the unit for a fire inspection. They first claimed that someone put a hold overnight and signed a lease at 7 am that day. When we told them this seems off, they then claimed the other lease had been signed a day or two before which is still terrible because not only did they not give us the right of first refusal, they didn't even notify us! We chose to come down Thanksgiving weekend to finalize this and buy furniture in anticipation of our move in a few weeks, so we are extremely upset as we relied on them and did not jump on a couple of other opportunities in other complexes. The worst part was instead of even a sincere apology or any accommodation, they were trying to sell us the inferior unit a couple of floors down, the same one they allegedly sold a couple of weeks ago! Given our experience with the sales tactics, we suspect they kept selling our unit and pushed the new tenant into the lease right before the promotion went through.

BUYER BEWARE: (You should also check out Yelp reviews)

- The water pressure is extremely low, 30-50% lower than other complexes built the last 3 years also subject to OC's new water regulation.
- Pool is unimpressive and gets sun 3 months out of the year.
- Printer in the clubhouse rarely works.
- Lake gets infested with mosquitos and other bugs.
- Reports of many break-ins.
- The south-facing side of the complex overlooks construction on Anton. The other side is north facing and dark.

As stressed this situation made us, maybe we dodged a bullet. We learned that if we're going to pay these kinds of prices, we should stick with well known management companies.

I wanted to share my review after living here for a year. It has been quite pleasant for apartment living from the time I applied to the time I renewed my lease. I want to give a shoutout to Melissa who has been nothing but kind, professional and most of all helpful in any of my inquiries or requests. Sal and Anthony are also super friendly and efficient. When I have any type of maintenance request they are pretty quick at resolving any issue without much wait. Even just walking down a hallway or in the elevator both Sal and Anthony are always cheery and conversational. Parking garage: I have never had a break-in while parked and also should note that I never leave anything valuable or visible in my car. Visitor parking can be a little nuisance at times I have seen some residents with a resident parking permit taking guest spots consistently when they should be paying for a resident spot. But there are also public parking structures around the area that guests can park but they have to pay a small fee. I never hear my neighbors next to me at all however I do have an upstairs neighbor that you can hear them if they have heavy footfall or heels at times also if they play their music loud you can hear them above you. If you have the opportunity I suggest to get the top floor to avoid it but isn't always an issue depending on your upstairs neighbor. But that is apartment living and I can't really help that part. This apartment is in a great area with Segerstrom performing arts center, OCMA, and various restaurants across the street all walkable. Great spots to walk your dogs. Just an overall pleasant experience living here thus far. Thank you again to the staff!

After nearly five years of calling 580 Anton home, I can confidently say that my time here has been nothing short of delightful. As I prepare to bid farewell, I'd like to take a moment to reflect on what has made this apartment truly special to me.

1. Design and Architecture: The meticulously crafted building and beautifully laid-out front yard are a testament to the skill and vision of the designers and architects behind 580 Anton. Its unique design sets it apart from typical rental buildings, exuding a sense of tranquility and harmony. The well-maintained garden has been a daily source of joy, where I've been greeted by the sight of colorful birds, turtles, and fish. Walking through this garden has become a cherished routine that never fails to relax me.
2. Fantastic View: From my unit, I've been treated to a picturesque view of the pool, gardens, ponds, and the lively presence of various birds. It's been a constant reminder of the natural beauty surrounding this community.
3. Safety: I've always felt secure walking around the premises, even late in the evening, thanks to the diligent presence of security guards who vigilantly patrol the area.
4. Location: The convenience of the location cannot be overstated.
• Being adjacent to Segerstrom and the OC Museum of Modern Art has allowed me to indulge my passion for art with ease.
• The proximity to South Coast Plaza, with its comprehensive offerings, has been a boon for any shopping needs.
• Access to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods within a short distance has added to the convenience of everyday living.
5. Office Staff Members: A special mention goes out to Mellissa, Brittney, Sal, Frank, and the entire staff who have consistently gone above and beyond to address any concerns or queries I've had. Their prompt response to my needs, especially during urgent situations, has been greatly appreciated.

While no place is without its imperfections, 580 Anton has come remarkably close to perfection for me. I'll undoubtedly miss the comfort and beauty of this unit as I embark on my journey back to NYC. However, if fate should ever bring me back to OC, there's no doubt in my mind that I'll be returning to this wonderful apartment community.

Toured one of the apartments. Definitely below average. They also forgot to give us back our ID so we had to call them the next day to meet them again, when we got to their office no one was there and we had to wait for 15 minutes for someone to come.
